summer of swimming

Wendell's in school, my mom is here to visit and has Harlie for the morning, Ali is napping...  I feel like I actually have time to breathe!!

I don't think I have stuck my head out of this pool (of having 3 kids) to breathe all summer.

I am glad we had a great summer full of fun but I didn't get a darn thing done around the house other than dishes and cleaning the toilet.

So I actually have a free moment to breathe and what do I think about?  All the things I need to do... here is the beginning list.

1. print off an 8X10 picture of Ali to hang on the wall
2. print of some baby pictures of Ali to put in the photo book
3. organize my photo's on the computer
4. start Ali's scrapbook of cards
5. wash my windows
6. clean under my fridge/stove
7. update my blog
8. plan a day to visit Wendell at school
9. paint Wendell's old room
10. clean out kids clothes
11. organize my upstairs closet
12. bring up big baby bottles from the basement
13. wash out the stroller
14. fix the bike trailer
15. fix the kitchen sink facet
16. figure out what to do with all the cucumber from the garden
17. return some stuff to the library
18. eat lunch
19. take a shower
20. oh yeah.. take a breath

I think that's enough for now.

Well.. maybe I can do a better #7 next time.  I'd like to post some pictures from our summer...  but this list is a bit overwhelming.  I don't know if I want to even look at all the pictures from this summer... I'm tired just thinking about it.

But for now, I'm getting hungry so I think I'll do #18.. then I better do #19.. when I'm done with that then Ali will be up and ready for me.  And I'll be back in the pool : )

summer 2012

We just looked online and found out that school starts in 3 weeks.

What?

Yes, 3 weeks!

We are going to miss Wendell and the summer fun. Sniff, sniff.

snack time in a fort

We have been very busy this summer.. doing lots of fun stuff.

I did not take this.. but it doesn't surprise me.

We have had family visit us, we have visited family, we have played outside, we have driven to parks, we have been to the beach, we have read lots of books, we have tried new foods, we have...

The reason I took this is because of the 'stickers' we used.  The black squares are from the grippy tape we put on the steps, we had some leftover so I cut them up.  Love the Christmas bow? : )  A random stamp sticker and labels.  We've also been collecting stickers off the fresh fruits we eat.  Don't worry, we have plenty of real stickers, I just like getting creative with what we stick.  This humors me.

not really taken a lot of pictures, but we have had lots of fun.

Wendell drew our family picture. Can you guess who is who?

..... met a lot of new people, played with old friends, and spent time with God.

Phil's mom Charlotte came to visit a few days.  Sure nice having an adult around!
What haven't we done?  Well, I haven't been cleaning much - just mopped the kitchen floor for the first time since Ali was born (yuck), I try to keep the bathroom clean, and vacuuming.. well that has to be done because we have carpet in the dining room.  I haven't been on the computer much (sorry mom), I haven't been on the phone much (sorry sis). And I really haven't been cooking that much (started doing freezer meals)....

me and my precious little girl

We still have a lot more to do, like a baptism, two weddings, a few more visitors, some school clothes shopping   ....

My bubble blower.. she was blowing bubbles when she was born.  Seriously, the moment Ali came out she was quiet, no crying, looking around and creating these slobber bubbles.  The doc and nurses just looked at her like.. are you okay?

Will it be another month before I post?  Probably.  Hopefully I will start taking more pictures... I don't want to forget all the fun we're having.  I think once school starts, I'll have a little more time to myself to blog and look at pictures... maybe get the baby book up to date, some baby pictures printed off, some cards organized.  Maybe... maybe this whirlwind will never end.

I guess I'm too busy...

to blog.

I'm sure I have some great pictures, great thoughts, and great stories.

But life is busy.

I'm sure in a few weeks or months when life is back to normal... then blogging will be back to normal.

For now... hope you're having a great summer!

Part II

SPRING IS HERE!
SUMMER IS AROUND THE CORNER!

planting the garden
doing their chores (both vacuuming at the same time)

* they loved doing this and vacuumed for about 20 minutes.  I bet are carpets haven't been this clean in a long time.  How could I say no?

our summer bucket list

Wendell's chore chart

goals for Harlie

awhhh... how cute : )

love bug

Robbie - the robin that visits us often
(we think he/she had a nest in our pine tree we had cut down in the back yard)
just a neat picture

snuggle bug

this one is dedicated to mom

my Harlie - dressed herself in her jammies tonight, both the top and bottoms are inside out and note the tag sticking out on the backwards pants (we see this often).  And the lovely dress socks with ruffles that she put on in the dark when she was suppose to be laying down.   Side note: this girl LOVES to brush her teeth, not kidding! I think it's the toothpaste.

my Harlie

If I had one of her crying it would have summed her up perfectly.

This last picture was the purpose of the 'photo shoot'.  Phil's mom made Harlie this dress when she turned one.  She has been wearing it since.  At first as a dress and now as a shirt.

She sure has changed in two years!

Part 1

Maybe it's summer, maybe it's life, maybe it's 3 kids but I can see life of blogging is a bit slow in my world.  I was a bit shocked when I had over 150 pictures to pull off my camera and of course, I love them all.  I tried to limit myself but here are some of my favorites.

my kitchen helper

I tried to tell them it wasn't warm enough.

My favorite.

My doll.
